Content Management
Scenario: Press Communiqué
Manual process
Publishing a press communiqué requires
review and approval by senior management. It is
of utmost importance to ensure that no item is released
to the public without a stringent review. Once an
item is drafted, it is sent to senior managers for
review. Review comments are incorporated and the
item sent for a second review. The item thus goes
through multiple cycles of drafts, reviews, and
revisions. The item is released or published after
the final approval.
Issues
The review cycle is so long as to be tedious.
Frequently, the press release loses its significance
before the review cycles can be completed.
Automation
With Skelta, the press release process
can be automated to include as many levels of review
as may be required. Revised drafts can be routed
back to the reviewers for the next review. This
process can be iterated until final approval. Frequent
changes to draft can be handled by integrating the
workflow with document management software such
as SharePoint. If feedback or approval is not given
within a specified time, the workflow can activate
reminders. The automated workflow shortens the overall
cycle time and enables easy monitoring of the status
of the press release and assigns clear accountability.
