Skelta BAM Report views and capabilities

The BAM feature included in Skelta BPM.NET enables comprehensive activity monitoring through multiple views available within a Default Report View setting. This represents the general layout of the BAM Control user-interface, which enables report generation of all active workflows.

Skelta BAM Dashboard available within the Report View structure enables activity monitoring through two default dashboard views -Workflow Statuses and Workflow Instances, which retrieve workflow execution data dynamically and display it in the respective charts.

Other Views enabled through the BAM tool’s detailed monitoring capabilities include:

Process Execution Views: show the workflow execution status graphically. The View represents the workflow up to the activity or execution status where the View was opened.

Analysts View: is a simplified view of the process design intended for end-users. It shows the process model that was saved as the Business Analyst's View after the business process modeling was completed and before the automation steps were added in the Process Designer.

Progress View: shows the workflow progress on the Process Diagram, up to the point that the Execution View is selected. It consists of the execution view mapped on to the Process Diagram.

Execution View: shows the workflow execution status up to the point that the Execution View is selected. The Process Execution Views are very useful in navigating large process definitions.

Skelta BAM also enables next level reporting features such as a ‘Save layout’ option for customized report layouts as well as an ‘Export grid’ tool for exporting contents of the report to different formats.

Business Scenario

Company X is facing serious problems in handling its travel desk processes. The manual processes currently followed often result in serious lapses in approval of travel plans, leading to employee dissatisfaction. Their HR department wants to automate its travel desk process and integrate it with their HRMS legacy system.

The travel desk manager also needs reports in terms of approvals pending for travel plan and the total travel needs per month. The management wants an automatic email alert to be sent to management, if the count of pending approvals exceeds the defined threshold value.

Skelta BAM and KPI help them in creating their own customized KPI data point for domestic travels with the threshold value of domestic travels defined in KPI. The threshold value was linked to alerts by defining a rule wherein if the number of pending travel plans approvals increases beyond a threshold value, then an alert will be automatically sent, along with graphical chart, to designated users.

For example, consider a situation where more than 5 travel plans are pending for approval. Here, a rule can be created for a pending workflow count (5 in this case) and the time preference can be specified. After a certain period of time, if it is still left unattended, then it will send an email alert with the graph to the designated persons.
