Hi there,

My team currently has two environments, development and quality.

Therefore, we're facing two issues while exporting/importing our set of workflows:

1 - On the same environment:
How can we export/import workflows and guarantee that all the web services included in the workflows will work properly? They never seem to work because every web service has an ID other than it's address and has a consequence we have to map the web services in the workflow all over again. We have a small script that compares some tables and introduces the new row, but it doesn't seem to always work. What should we do?

2 - From one environment to another:
This case is similar to the previous, but with an "extra" in this case the web services address change. I tried to import the with our script and then change it's address with another one, but this doesn't seem to do the trick. Should I edit the XML before importing?

Thanks in advance for your time,

Rui

Hi Rui,

Which version you are on BPM.Net 2006 or 2007? Web service import should work without any manual modifications.

I'm working with 2007.

Export/import works fine except when I want to use the InvokeWebService activity and simultaneous export it to a different engine/machine.

If you do this, next time you run the workflow you will have an error when you try to invoke the web service.

Even deploying workflows on complete different environment works. Incase this is not working in your environment you might want to open an incident with Skelta support for this.

I opened an issue yesterday.

Assuming now that I will be able to import/export my workflows with the invoke web service activity working probably there is another issue I would like to address.

How will the update of the webservices's address work?

I have tried to update directly the invokewebservice table but at the time it didn't seem to do the trick.

Thanks once again for your help,

Rui

I think to achieve that yoy might have to change the xml file which is generated when you export the process.

Any idea for an automated process?

By the way, why has this topic changed for BPM.NET 2006?

This is happening on 2007.

Thanks for your time,

Rui
