Skelta announces launch of the SharePoint Workflow Accelerator

Application extends advanced workflow functionality to document management feature of Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Windows SharePoint Services

November 15, 2004 - Skelta today announced the launch of SharePointT Workflow Accelerator. The application seamlessly extends Microsoft^® SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Microsoft^® Windows^® SharePointT Services to provide advanced workflow functionalities for building complex document based collaborative solutions.

The workflow capability is enabled in the SharePointT portal server by integrating Skelta's workflow engine, Skelta Workflow.NET 2004, with the portal server. Skelta Workflow.NET 2004 is based on core Microsoft.NET technologies and leverages Windows^® Server 2003 and SQL Server capabilities for networking, transaction and database management, and scalability.

Significantly, integration of the SharePointT Workflow Accelerator with the SharePointT portal server is so seamless that the usage characteristics, look and feel of the portal server are completely maintained, thereby providing users a sense of familiarity and ease.

SharePoint Custom Workflow Workflow Accelerator enables creation and execution of complex workflows based on business rules, ensuring easy and accurate routing and processing of documents across the enterprise. Once it's installed, the portal server's document libraries and lists are equipped to invoke the workflows, making the development and building of workflows easy. Tasks can be directly delivered to a SharePointT task list which users can access to process tasks assigned to them. Users can also receive emails and SMS messages as part of the workflow process, extract relevant content and route them to appropriate resources.

With SharePointT Workflow Accelerator in place, even non-technical personnel are empowered to build and deploy enterprise-wide document approvals, employee self-service workflows or any other type of workflow originating from SharePointT, InfoPath 2003 or any other sources. The intuitive Web based process designer makes this possible. Also, processes can be dynamically modified without any programming knowledge, and a complete audit trail of activities inside a workflow obtained.

SharePointT Workflow Accelerator is 100 % Web based, which means users can access SharePoint Portal Server's document-related task messages via the Web, mobile devices or PDAs, thereby maximizing productivity.

SharePointT Workflow Accelerator comes with robust security routines with module-wise and action-wise permission for any given user. Support for Active Directory ^® ensures correct identification and authentication of participants in workflow processes from within the SharePointT environment.
